Careers in Wipro
Wipro believes in maintaining high standards for hiring. They have structured programs to make sure the candidates are thoroughly trained. This company is for candidates with merit, who wouldn’t mind signing a comparatively longer contract. This is mainly because Wipro invests a lot of resources in the training process.
The trainings are world class and are structured to train an employee in various facets of a domain. Consisting of group projects, work experience in different offices for a few months and class room teachings, the training makes every candidate topclass in their industry. As the training draws to a close, the mentors and the candidates decide where they’d like to be placed.
Fraudsters make job seekers easy targets. If you receive suspicious mail that does not come from the domain ID of Wipro, understand that you are being conned. One surefire sign of fraud is asking you to pay money/ your bank details. Do not share sensitive information. If you have been cheated on, lodge a complaint at the nearest police station. Wipro hires both through on- campus and off- campus placements. Let us look into its off- campus hiring. In the latter sections of this article, you can find information about the special programs that wipro has for graduates.
Wipro Selection Process
Wipro takes fresh graduates and has less room for pass outs of previous years. It has a no backlog policy. It conducts Walkin drives in various locations across India. Bookmark their Careers page: https://careers.wipro.com or follow All India Job’s latest Walkins page to get updates.
Wipro keeps its selection process pretty simplistic. It has a similar arc of recruitment for both experienced candidates and freshers. They primarily include the following stages:
- Stage 1: Register, apply online or upload your resume
- Stage 2: Evaluations- Assessments and Interviews
- Stage 3: Documentation
There is nothing much to discuss about stage 3. It involves checking your original marks lists, experience certificates, relevant documents and ID proofs. Let us now look into stageS 1 & 2 in detail.
The first step is to apply to the company generically with your resume. You can also apply to specific open positions that Wipro advertises on their website.
If you don’t have specific role preferences or did not find any open position you’d like, submit your resume and preferences. You could get a call back if some role opens up.
Every company has a different approach to recruitment. That is why we have created detailed articles about each major company that hires in India.
The selection standards for wipro are pretty high as are their training modules. They prefer students from premier institutions and proven merit either through their academic/professional achievements, projects done, internships, workshops etc.,
So make sure every single step you take will be scrutinized under a magnifying glass. Understand that if you are rejected, you won’t be considered for Wipro for three months after that.
- No backlogs
- Full Time degree
- Engineering stream: 60% academic percentage from X standard

Wipro Placement- MBA
The recruitment of MBA graduates for strategic roles are done from Wipros’ 2 month summer internship program- WISE program or through their campus placement drives from premier institutions.
They select their summer interns from premier institutions as well. Depending on the intern’s performance of an intern, they might be offered a pre- placement offer/ interview.
For other graduates, once the application stage is done, you have to wait for the call back if you are experienced, or if your profile is extraordinary.
Even though Wipro takes in candidates from good institutions and best profiles, their assessment tests for freshers and on-campus placements for engineers are pretty basic.
