Stage 1: Apply
Google has a portal where it uploads all open positions. These are sorted location wise. One can search based on the domain of their choice. As Google is a multinational company, it has several establishments within every country.

Whether you are experienced or a fresher, you need to browse through the departments that google recruits for, check if there are open positions suiting your requirement and apply. This is the only way.

The hiring process at Google is pretty straightforward. But the hiring managers at google spend a good amount of time in scrutinizing each application. Unlike other corporations where a machine scans and selects profiles, google prefers manual selection.
As the selection is done manually, there are some specific ways in which an employer must strategize their google applications to get through the screening.
You can’t apply for more than 3 applications in a span of one month. So, choose carefully. You will not be considered for the same position within six months of your first application.
If your application seems to be rejected, it is safe to gain experience for 12 to 18 months before re applying.
Here are some tips to apply for a Google job: the first step is understanding that you can’t apply generically. The employers first reject all unnecessary applications. So make sure you apply only for positions you have a real shot.
You can only apply 3 at a time or wait for another 30 days. Check the qualification, requirements and experience they mentioned.
- Tailor your Resume to fit the position you are applying for. As the hiring managers are screening manually, make your resume flawless and relevant to the role.
- Write a cover letter too. It is not mandatory to include a cover letter to apply for Google. But it gives you a chance to convince the employer why you are a best fit before they get a chance to talk to you.

- Click the Apply button that will be present in the page where the job details are present.
- Login or Sign up using your Google/ Gmail account.
- Fill in your name, contact details, Educational qualifications and work experience details.
- Upload your resume. It must be within 2 MB for Google standards.
- Wait for recruiters to contact you. You will hear back within six months. Google does not inform rejections.
Stage 2: Interview
The interview process at Google is unique. If you are being interviewed for a leadership role, the interview will last for 30 to 45 mins. Common questions will be asked at Google too.But you’ll be expected to give answers from examples and situations you previously faced.
If you are being interviewed for the role of a fresher software engineer, an interviewer will schedule a phone call/ hangouts call. The interview will last for 45 to 60 minutes. You’ll be asked to finish a code in the coding language of your choice in an online word document.
The interviewer will be parallelly in conversation with you as you explain and finish the code. The test and questions will be based on algorithms, coding and error correction.
If you are experienced, your interview and tests will be more role specific and depend on your previous experience. If you have a command on your subject, the interview will be a cake walk.
You have no role to play in this stage. Your profile, Resume, references, interview remarks and marks will be given to a panel of executives who’ll take the final call on your recruitment.
